A global beauty group wants to understand how its brand portfolio stacked up against competitors and identify high-potential acquisition targets in the luxury beauty space.

Approach

We conducted a brand diligence at scale to map the competitive landscape: 1. Used AI-powered social listening to assess cultural relevance, commercial performance, and category expansion opportunities across 75 brands, including the client's portfolio, leading competitors, and emerging luxury targets 2. Narrowed to 25 high-priority brands for deeper analysis, conducting consumer surveys to map brand associations and perceptions 3. Developed a ranked list of acquisition targets with current valuations and strategic fit, plus recommendations on how to elevate underperforming brands in the existing portfolio

Result

Delivered a comprehensive report covering all 75 brands plus a live Tableau dashboard for ongoing internal tracking and reporting. Provided clear acquisition targets with strategic rationale, leading to a multibillion-dollar acquisition. Also gave the client a roadmap for strengthening their current portfolio brands.
